Delores Hagerman, our dear Mother, went to be with the Lord and reunite with her loving husband, Kenny, on March 1, 2026. She passed away surrounded by her family who adored her. She was 88 years old. Delores was born Oct. 18, 1937 in Shadyside, Ohio to June and Ralph Cantwell. She attended school in Ohio and graduated from St. Clairsville High School. She moved from Ohio to Bainbridge Island, Wa. when she was 21. She was working at Boeing as a key punch operator when she met “her Kenny”, the love of her life, while commuting on the ferry to Seattle. After dating several years, they got married on Aug. 30, 1967. Just in time for Kenny to go hunting, so their honeymoon was spent in Idaho which was also to be her first hunting trip. Mom had 4 kids when she and Kenny got married, and soon after, they welcomed number 5, their youngest daughter. They made their first family home on Sportsman Club Rd. on Bainbridge Island, where Mom was able to be a stay at home Mom, and together they worked to make a wonderful home for their large family. In 1986 they moved into a new home they built on Millers Bay and lived there for 20 years. Eventually they built another new home, their “forever home”, on Shine Road, overlooking the Hood Canal, and she made sure Dad built it big enough for large gatherings of family and friends that she took so much joy in hosting. Her family was her life and she cared so deeply for each and every one of them. She cared for her friends with a big and loving heart as well. She was always willing to lend a hand, give words of encouragement, or even just sit and listen when needed. Delores was devoted to her faith in God and to her church. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior in 1970. And she raised her children with those Christian values she held so dear. Delores loved to cook for anybody she could feed. Her potato salad was very well known and a huge favorite, along with her swedish pancake breakfast on New Year’s morning, a long standing family tradition. She also had a big sweet tooth! Hershey’s chocolate bars being her favorite! She enjoyed playing on a softball team named, Flodines Chicks, and a volleyball team with a group of women who were not just team mates, they were close friends. And they had a ball together, win or lose. Delores was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Kenny, her Mother and Father, 4 brothers, 1 sister, Son in Law Albert Enriquez and Grand Daughter, Tina Enriquez. Left to cherish her memory are sons, Rich (Lisa), Robert (Anita), daughters, Victoria Enriquez (Scott), Pam Sisk (Kenny), and Dena Lewis (Ed), 18 grandkids and 22 great grandkids. A memorial service will be held on May 16, at 1p.m. at The Bainbridge First Baptist Church.
