Paul Gaeta

Paul Gaeta was born on May 10, 1958, and it often felt like he came into this world with a guitar already in his hands. Music wasn't just something he enjoyed—it was woven into the very fabric of who he was. After his mom taught him just a few chords, he taught himself to play, proving that passion and determination can create something truly extraordinary.

From playing music in church to performing with several rock bands over the years, music was his greatest joy. Of all the bands he played with, Black Sheep became the most well-known, and anyone who heard him play knew they were witnessing someone who genuinely loved every note. Music was his language, his comfort, and his gift to everyone around him.

Outside of music, Paul dedicated 15 years to Spaeth Moving Company. His coworkers weren't just people he worked with—they became a second family to him. His boss, Troy Keatley, and everyone he worked alongside knew the kind of man Paul was: dependable, hardworking, caring, and always willing to lend a hand.

But as talented as Paul was with a guitar, the greatest thing about him was his heart. He was kind, loving, gentle, and always willing to help anyone who needed him. He had a unique sense of humor that could catch you off guard and leave you laughing. He never sought attention or recognition—he simply lived with quiet compassion and authenticity.

Paul never married and didn't have children of his own, but he never lacked love. Family and friends meant everything to him, and the love he gave was returned many times over. He is survived by his siblings, Brenda Franco, Ron Laub, Dennis O'Connor, and Angie Doty-Beckam, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives are richer because they knew him.

Though our hearts are heavy today, we can find comfort in knowing that Paul's music doesn't end here. It lives on in the memories we share, in the laughter he inspired, and in the kindness he showed every day. We can imagine him reunited with those who have gone before him, guitar in hand, filling heaven with the music that was always such a part of his soul.

Paul, thank you for your kindness, your laughter, your gentle spirit, and the music you shared so freely. Thank you for showing us that a life doesn't have to be measured by wealth or fame, but by the love we give and the lives we touch.

Your song may have ended here on earth, but your melody will live in our hearts forever.

Rest peacefully, Paul. You will always be loved, and you will never be forgotten.

The funeral will be Saturday, August 22nd at 1pm at 31912 Little Boston Rd. NE, Kingston, WA 98346. All are welcome to come share your love and support with the family.
