With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our Mum, Priscilla “Jill” Todd, on February 18, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on April 11, 1940, in Lynn, Massachusetts, to Bill and Jean Bentley, Jill grew up in nearby Saugus. A 1958 graduate of Saugus High School, she earned her associates degree at Fisher Junior College and later continued her education at Lesley College in Cambridge, Massachusetts, eventually earning a master’s degree in organizational management in her early 50s, an accomplishment for which she worked hard and was deeply proud. Mum was funny, curious, and endlessly capable. She was the first person you called for help with IT tech support or to organize a database, plan a party, put together IKEA furniture, or hang wallpaper.

In 1962, Jill married Dick Rohrbacher, and they welcomed their daughter Krista in 1963. The family moved to Germany during his military service when Krista was still an infant and were later stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, where Wendy was born in 1967. After leaving the military, Jill helped Dick get his doctorate in education and build a business in the Berkshires, where she honed her natural instincts and talent for business and management.

Following their divorce, Jill began her career at Draper Laboratory in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Starting in the secretarial pool, she rose through the organization to become a senior program administrator managing multimillion dollar research and development contracts with the federal government. She built her career through persistence, sharp interpersonal skills, keen judgment, and a willingness to learn as she went.

In 1976, she started dating Bertram “Bert” Todd, and they married in 1977, sharing 48 adventurous years together in Saugus, MA; New Port Richey, FL; and Poulsbo, WA. Jill embraced Bert’s daughters, Stephanie and Carolyn “K-K,” and was a thoughtful and genuinely kind stepmother. Bert and Jill loved to travel, play golf, and spend time with friends, sharing many adventures with Ben and Lillian, Lee and Don, Sandy and Kevin, Ace and Lesley, Pat and Greg, Norma and Bobby, and countless others who became part of their vibrant social circle. Jill credited Bert with teaching her how to play golf, and she grew into a confident and competitive player in her own right. She loved dancing, and she and Bert rarely sat out a song at a wedding or party. During Bert’s years in the Lions Club, she happily performed in the annual Lions Club Follies as a member of the chorus line. Truthfully though, some of her best performances happened behind the wheel. It didn’t matter where she was or who was in the car - if “Rubberband Man” came on, Jill was dancing, much to the mortification of the tweens in the backseat.

Above all, Jill was a devoted mother to Krista (Bill) Webb and Wendy (Stephen) Coates and a deeply caring stepmother to Stephanie (Michael) Vigliotta and Carolyn “K-K” Todd. She was a proud “GG” to her grandchildren Brooke, Shelby, Jillian, and John, and her bonus grandchildren, Claudia, Rocco, and Audrie who brought her joy in everything they did. She shared a close bond with her niece Katie Bentley, and their weekly phone calls were a steady and happy part of her routine.

The past year was a difficult one for her. Mum lived with cognitive impairment and short-term memory loss, and she felt the loss of Bert deeply after his passing last year. Even as her memory faded, her warmth and spark never fully left her. Our family is profoundly grateful to the friends and helpers who surrounded her with kindness, filling her days with companionship, laughter, and moments to look forward to. While we will miss her always, we find comfort in knowing she is no longer burdened by the progression of her illness and is reunited with her beloved Bert, dancing again with her memories held close.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert, and her parents, Bill and Jean Bentley. Jill is survived by her brother Christopher Bentley (Karen); her daughters and sons in law; her grandchildren; her nieces and nephews; and many extended family members and friends.
