Adam Patrick Lott

October 16, 1977 — June 1, 2022

Adam Patrick Lott, 44, passed away surrounded by family on June 1, 2022, at his home in Poulsbo, WA after a 3-year battle with aggressive brain cancer.

Adam was born on October 16, 1977, with his identical twin brother Phil, to parents Doris and James Lott in Seattle, WA. His grandparents were Greg and DeElvia Lott and James and Patricia Shore. An avid swimmer on the Kingsgate Gators, a passion shared with brothers Jim and Phil, Adam went on to be swim captain for Juanita High School, graduating in 1996 before completing his Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology at University of Washington in 2001. Adam continued to be a proud Husky, always sporting his purple and gold.

Adam started working for Safeway in high school and continued there for the next 22 years, working his way up from Courtesy Clerk to Assistant Store Director. He continued in the grocery industry as he moved over to UNFI (Unified Grocers) in 2014, becoming Regional Merchandising Manager last year. Adam brought his smile and positive attitude to every store he worked at, brightening both customers and employees’ days alike. He enjoyed traveling for work up the west coast from Arizona to Alaska, and one adventurous trip across the Pacific to Guam!

Fatherhood was the greatest joy of Adam’s life and he spent hours with sons Jude, Ethan, and Greyson sharing his love of cars through hot wheels, big wheels, and car shows. When the boys were little, they all rode bikes through the trails of their neighborhood while Adam showed off his mountain biking skills, and they enjoyed many road trips together to the beautiful Oregon Coast.

Adam met his fiancé Naomi in 2013, a fellow motorhead who also shared his love for music and the outdoors. They got engaged on March 18, 2016. Over the years they enjoyed many hikes and drives around the Cascades and Olympic Mountains, eventually testing their travel abilities on a 2-week backpacking trip through Germany and Switzerland in 2018. Adam and Naomi also shared a love of Hawaii and were thrilled to bring the boys, plus parents, to Kauai in Summer 2021.

Adam was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma in 2019 and was blessed with 2.5 years of remission after his initial surgery and treatment before it came back in Fall 2021. Adam fought this cancer with everything he had, undergoing 4 surgeries, plus radiation and chemo, keeping an incredibly optimistic attitude throughout. Adam, along with Naomi, were immensely grateful for the tremendous outpouring of support they received throughout from family and friends. In his final act of giving, Adam donated his brain and spinal cord to the University of Washington BioRepository and Integrated Neuropathy Laboratory to assist in furthering the research of this very rare cancer.

44 years was too short a life for the wonderful soul, personality, father, partner, and human that Adam was. His life was spent making those around him laugh, always making sure that others were taken care of before he worried about himself. If you were near him, you were a friend, no matter how long you had known him for. Adam smiled with his whole face, followed by his infectious laugh, and usually some questionable dance moves to whatever 80s song he was blasting at the moment. His boundless joy impacted many.

Adam is survived by fiancé, Naomi Hubert; former wife, Katie Simmons, and their children Jude (19), Ethan (16), and Greyson (14) Lott; parents, James and Doris Lott; brothers, William Strickland, Jim Lott (Rachel), Phil Lott (Jacqui); nieces, Madison, Brooke, and Ava; nephew, Hayden; beloved cats, Jada and Petunia; and numerous friends and a large extended family.
