91, died peacefully in her sleep march 15, 2012.. She is with the savior, Jesus Christ, she came to love.She was born in Manitoba, Canada, august 8, 1920. Her parents emigrated from Poland. She spent her young adult life in Vancouver, Canada. In 1950 she married Don Shea and moved to Seattle and immigrated to the United States in 1953. She was a cook at the VA in Seattle making the soup of the day specials. Alice was an avid ice skater, skier, and hiker in her younger years. She also loved to bake and make rugs.Alice and don moved to Kingston, WA where she resided for over 35 years. She was well-known in Kingston for her daily walk, in all kinds of weather, to the post office, store and bank, often stopping at the VFW to talk and debate politics. She and don built a log cabin on their property at Appletree cove and planted many, many, trees. She was known as the "cat lady" having as many as 40 at one time. People would just drop them off at her doorstep. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Shea in 1978.Many thanks to the neighbors and friends who looked after Alice since 1978. Also, thanks for the great care she was given at Harbor House and the West Adult Family Home in Poulsbo.Friends are welcome to the graveside service at Kingston Cemetery, Monday, March 26, 2012 at 1:00 p.m.
