passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at her home in Poulsbo, Washington.Gerrie and her husband Sheldon have lived in Poulsbo for the past 28 years. From 1982-1994 Gerrie was the owner and operator of Poulsbo's Viking Kennels. Gerrie was the Deputy Instructor of The Grand Chapter of Washington, Order of The Eastern Star, and she was Worthy Matron, Priscilla Chapter No. 96, Order of the Eastern Star - Port Gamble. Gerrie loved to travel in her RV and slept in all fifty states except West Virginia and Pennsylvania. She was born on January 15, 1942 in Potlatch, Idaho and was 68 years of age. In addition to Poulsbo, Gerrie has lived in Chandler, Arizona, Vallejo, California, San Francisco, California and Palouse, Washington where she grew up and graduated from Palouse High School in 1960. She attended Washington State University and Eastern Washington University. Gerrie is survived by her husband Sheldon Hankin of Poulsbo, WA, son Ron Duran Jr. and daughter in-law Laurie Jackson of Shelton, WA, son Mark Hankin and daughter in-law Denice Kerr of Bellevue, WA, son Miles Hankin of New York, NY, brother Marvin Thompson and sister in-law Diane of Seward, AK, and grandson's Sam and Wade Hankin of Vashon Island, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Gladys Thompson. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Franklin Masonic Temple, 5 Rainier Avenue, Port Gamble, WA 98364.
