Helen Ruth Groves

Helen Ruth Groves was born in Miami, Florida on November 24, 1926. She was the third and youngest child born to Homer and Mabel Cappleman. Helen loved the beaches of Florida and developed a deep love for the natural world and animals.
Helen earned a BA degree from Florida State University in Tallahassee. She moved to the Pacific Northwest in 1956.
Helen worked as a secretary at the University of Washington for many years and retired in the 1990s to live in the Rolling Bay area of Bainbridge Island. She passed at the age of 95 on January 16, 2022.
