Henry Cragerud

was born in Seattle on May 4, 1931, and raised on Bainbridge Island. He was born to Henry and Eleanor (Woodrow) Cragerud.Henry was a 50 year member of I.B.E.W. Local 77. He was instrumental in starting Emergency Medical Service in Kitsap County and neighboring counties on the Olympic Peninsula. He helped bring the 911 system to Bainbridge Island. He was employed by Kitsap County as a traffic engineer and managed many large projects.Henry was a veteran of the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Colin Hyde Post #172. He was past president of Bainbridge Island Little League and was past Pack Leader of the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 565.His parents and his wife, Hazel, preceded him in death. Survivors include son Philip (Celine) and two daughters, Lynn and Lisa (Carl) and four grandchildren, Emily, Erik, Rebecca and Scotty. Also a brother, John (Lola) and two sisters, Linnea and Kristina.Henry asked that there be no service. Remembrances may be made to the Bainbridge Island Ambulance Association.
