passed away on August 16, 2013 following a significant decline in her health over the past few months. She was born February 24, 1923 in Rock Springs, Wyoming where she lived for the first 16 years of her life.In 1939 she moved to Grass Valley, CA where she met her future husband Bill Dolinar at Grass Valley High School. They were married in 1942 while Bill was in the army during WW II. In 1944 the first of their two children, Mary Lou, was born in Butte, Montana just prior to them moving to where they permanently settled in Sacramento, CA. In 1948 their second child, Bill, was born. For the next several years Josephine and Bill developed life long friendships and a stable environment where their family thrived. In addition, a large extended family assured many memorable gatherings, celebrations and adventures (sardine lakes). Mary Lou married Ken Teske and shortly after Josephine became a grandmother for the first time when Laurie was born, followed in the coming years by Christine. Mary Lou and Ken currently live on Bainbridge Island, WA.Five more grandchildren, David, Amy, Eric, Mira and Liz, were born over the coming years after their son married. Bill and his wife Donna currently live in Paradise, CA.As the grandchildren grew and married, another generation entered into Josephine's life. Laurie's children, Kanen and Emma Rose along with Mira's children Abijah , Willy and Ruby Watkins brought more brightness into her life.In 1970, Josephine's first husband, Bill, died suddenly. After several years as a widow she met and married Remo Matteucci in 1977. She moved with Remo to his family ranch in Fallon, Nevada where she lived for the next 21 years until Remo's death in 1998.She subsequently lived near close family and friends in Arcata, Ca for a few years and then moved near Bill and Donna in Paradise, CA for a number of years. She lived the past 16 month near her daughter and family on Bainbridge Island, WA until her death.In all the many place she lived, Josephine developed life long friendships. She was a mother, scout leader, butcher, accountant, rancher and travel partner as well as a loving mother, grandma and great grandma.Her children Mary Lou and Bill and their spouses Ken and Donna as well as her seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren and large extended family were privileged to have such a loving mother, mom, Noni Jo Jo, Josephine, Babe. She lives on in our hearts and will be greatly missed.
