of Bainbridge Island, WA passed away at Island Health and Rehabilitation Center on Monday February 9, 2009. She was born in Greenfield, Massachusetts on February 10, 1943. The oldest child of Charles and Ellen (Chiz) Kveitkauskas. She grew up in Greenfield and graduated from Greenfield High School in 1961. While living in Rhode Island she was involved deeply in the Eastern Star. She was a Past Worthy Matron in the Martha Washington Chapter in Warren, RI. She moved to Washington State in 1978 where she settled in Silverdale. She volunteered at her son's school, Clear Creek Elementary. She was also an avid reader, especially Anne McCaffrey. She adored cats, with Missy being her last companion. Her move to Bainbridge Island was due to the advanced progression of Multiple Sclerosis. The family would like to let everyone at Island Health and Rehabilitation Center know how much Mom appreciated the time and care you gave her while a resident. We also would like to thank them for making her last days comfortable.She is survived by her son Mark Flagg of Silverdale, WA. , her daughter Jennifer Bannon and Tim Sykes of Virginia Beach, VA. , former husband Ray Flagg of Bremerton, WA. ,her grandchildren Sean and Becca Bannon of Virginia Beach, VA. , her sister Diane Buker and husband David of Westminster, MA. Her niece Sara Johnson and husband Eric of Gardner, MA. Grand-Nephews Zachary and Adam, and Grand-Niece Megan Johnson, of Gardner, MA. She was preceded in death by her parents. She was also pre-deceased by a Nephew Christopher Buker.A memorial service will be held at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, Bainbridge Island, WA at 1pm on Friday the 13th of February 2009. In lieu of flowers the family would ask that you make a donation to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the American Diabetes Association in her name.Arrangements entrusted to Cook Family Funeral Home Bainbridge Island.
