passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Harrison Hospital in Bremerton, Washington.Anita was born on October 20, 1923 in Bellingham, WA to Andrew and Alberta Jensen. She made her home on Bainbridge Island for the past 25 years. Previously she had lived in California, the Galapagos Islands and Ecuador.She graduated from Eatonville High School in 1942, and attended Portland College. During WWII she started her aerospace career at Boeing, Seattle and later worked for Lockheed, Burbank. After retiring from Lockheed in 1983 she moved to Bainbridge Island to be with her family. In 1985 she opened her sweetshop, Sweet Treasures in Winslow. In her spare time Anita earned one of her greatest accomplishments, that being her pilots license. Anita is survived by her two children, Gay Abbott (Ross) of Bainbridge Island, and Greg Kauffman (Ruth) of Edmonds, WA. She was a loving, caring, devoted grandmother to Kristen and Heather Abbott of Portland, OR, and Gered and Shea Kauffman of Seattle, WA.She was proceeded in death by her sister Priscilla Saavedra. She is survived by her siblings, sister Beverly Pelton and brothers, Sterling and Claire Jensen.Granny, as she was so lovingly called by her grandchildren and all the children whose lives she touched will be deeply missed.A celebration of her life will be held on June 7th from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Edmonds Conference Center, 201 4th Ave., Edmonds, WA. Any remembrances can be made to The Salvation Army.
