loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went to be with her Heavenly Father on April 20, 2012. She passed away from complications following surgery at the UW Medical Center in Seattle, Washington.Kathie was born September 20, 1944 to Dorothy and Wayne Forcum in Everett, Washington. While being raised from childhood to becoming a young woman, she attended Everett schools.She met her husband, Bob Reid, on April 7, 1963 and they were married on June 21, 1963. Kathie made her home in East Bremerton (5 yrs), Kingston (29 Yrs) and Poulsbo (14 yrs). Her primary activities while raising her children were Camp Fire Girls, Cub Scouts and North Kitsap Little League. She also enjoyed gardening, relaxing and reading a good book, maintaining her bird watching catalog, ceramics classes, going shopping, trips to Reno and preparing for and participating in special occasions and holiday celebrations. While residing in her various homes, she established many life-long & cherished friends. Kathie was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Forcum, mother Dorothy Joyce, step father Lorne Joyce and her brother Kevin Forcum. She is survived by her husband Bob Reid, daughter Traci (Mike) Brown, sons Bob Reid and Joey Reid, brothers Pat Forcum and Tim Forcum, nieces April Jeffries and Mackenzie Buchholz, nephews John Nickerson and Reilly Buchholz, grandsons Jesse Reid, Eiljah Fhy and Joey Robert Reid, grand-daughters Jaymie Reid, Rachel Brown and Grace Reid, and great-granddaughter Rylee Reid. Arrangements for Kathie have been entrusted to Cook Family Funeral Home on Bainbridge Island. Her online guest book can be seen, comments made and signed at www.cookfamilyfuneralhome.com.A memorial service is planned for Saturday May 5, 2012 at 1PM. It will be held at the Charleston Baptist Church, 1302 N. Lafayette Ave, in Bremerton, with a reception will follow. Any donations in her name may be made to the Central Kitsap Food Bank or the Cancer Society.
