a resident of Bainbridge Island, Washington died Saturday, April 28, 2007 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church on Bainbridge Island.She was born to Stanley and Faye Anderson on August 10, 1930 in Seattle, Washington. She enjoyed many childhood summers with her grandparents who owned and operated the University of Washington canoe house. Later she moved to California where she graduated from Glendale High School in 1948. Soon after, she married Michael, the love of her life. They moved to Lake Oswego, Oregon in 1960 and were transferred to Seattle in 1970, when they purchased their home on Bainbridge Island.Being a homemaker, Marge enjoyed sewing quilts, crocheting, knitting and reading. She attended St. Cecilia Catholic Church and taught CCD classes. She also was the coach of a girl's little league softball team. She was active with the Puget Sound Blood Bank where she was a volunteer for many years.Marge was preceded in death by her husband Michael in 1985 and son Christopher in 1988. She is survived by her brother Richard Anderson of Anchorage, Alaska and daughters Erin Quinn of Friday Harbor and Kerry Quinn-Giaccani and Katie Quinn of Ocean Shores.Grandchildren include Jamin, Nathan and Adam Quinn of Oregon and Megan Flierl and Emerald Fire of Friday Harbor. Great granddaughters are Ramona, Thea and Piper Flierl also of Friday Harbor. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.Although she suffered from partial paralysis for many years, nothing slowed her down in her determination to maintain her independence. Through adversity she kept her strong sense of humor and admirable tenacity. She loved a good laugh and a good story. Her friends and family can attest too the fact that she never told a story which she couldn't "polish" to be just a tad bit better the next time around. She really enjoyed learning and sharing tidbits of trivia at the morning coffee table with her friends.A Memorial Mass will be held for Marge at St. Cecilia Catholic Church on Bainbridge Island on Saturday, May 12, 2007 at 1:00 PM followed by a "celebration of her life" reception in the church hall [Map]. Interment will take place at Seabold Cemetery. In lieu of remembrances, Marge would want you to "Be real good to yourself today".Arrangements through Cook Family Funeral Home.
