"Michi", quietly passed away on Oct 11th. She was born on Dec. 6, 1919 on Bainbridge Island, WA. She was 96 years young. Michi learned to swim in the waters at the Head of the Bay, harvested her papa's strawberries, graduated from Bainbridge High School, spent more than three years in internment camps during WWII at Manzanar and Minidoka, and lived a full life on the island. Michi was a faithful, long-time member of the Rolling Bay Presbyterian Church. She gained many friends through her bible studies group and participation in church events. She loved people from all walks of life and was an exemplary example of unconditional love. Her whole being was full of compassion, kindness, and forgiveness. Her light, which shone so brightly, touched many souls, and she was deeply loved. She was also a consummate entertainer and enjoyed putting together feasts and making sure everyone had a good time.Michi was preceded in death by her parents, Taka and Yoshiaki Amatatsu, husband Suyeo Noritake, and sister Yoneko Elsie Amatatsu Iwasaki. She is survived by her sisters Kazuko Kay Amatatsu Nayematsu and Iku Dorothy Amatatsu Watanabe; daughter Wendy Noritake, son Greg Noritake and wife Leinette Noritake; granddaughters April Arthur (husband Jake Arthur) and Jamey Noritake; great granddaughters Mariah Saxon and Milani Urrea.In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to BIJAC (Bainbridge Island Japanese-American Community), P.O.
