passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at her daughter's home on Bainbridge Island, Washington. She was 81 years of age.Vivian was born February 1,1926 in Excelsior Minnesota to William and Nellie Bly (Alderson) Hancock. She moved to Bellingham, WA as a child and was adopted by her mother's brother and his wife, Bill and Alma Alderson, and grew up in Birch Bay, WA.After graduating from Bellingham High School and business school, she got a job at Pacific Fruit and Produce in Seattle, where she met and married Bainbridge Island native James Quitslund. After their wedding on July 14th 1951, they moved to Battle point. They built the family home on Sunrise Drive where they lived for over 50 years.Vivian was proceeded in death by her parents. Her husband of 53 years. Her sisters Marian and Virginia. Her brothers Hugh and Stanley.She is survived by her daughters Pam Halverson (Dana), Penny Young (Steve), Nancy Cross (Bryan), Jeanne Bastiani (Scott). 8 grandchildren Chris, Alisha, Cindy, Corey, Ashley, Tristan, Isabella and Tessa. 7 great grandchildren Michalia, Darian, Dominic, Gennissa, Ilhana, Alric and Chloe. At Vivian's request, no services will be held. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Kitsap County.Arrangements entrusted to Cook Family Funeral Home.
