William Harrison Blaylock

November 17, 1932 — July 18, 2020

On July 18th 2020, we said a tearful goodbye to our father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, William (Bill) Harrison Blaylock.

Dad was born on November 17, 1932 in Ventura, California to John Clayton and Elberta Ruth Blaylock. He was the youngest of five children, Robert, Donald, June and Dorothy who all predeceased him.

Dad served time in the Navy as an electrician on submarines and continued his trade until he retired and traded his tool belt for a fishing pole.

Dad married our mom, Sandra, in 1958 and live in San Jose, California until moving to Bremerton, Washington in 1976. He is survived by his two children, daughter Karen Kimzey (Garrett) and son Bill Blaylock (Kathy), six grandchildren, Niklaus Lopez, Brandon Lopez (Christina), Erin Prince (Darius), Nina Blaylock, Scott Blaylock and Greg Blaylock and seven great grandchildren.

Dad lived the majority of his adult life in Kitsap County. But after retiring he moved to Chinook, Washington, a place he loved. He spent many days destroying the fish population on the Columbia River and Pacific Ocean. When he wasn't fishing he grew beautiful Dahlias, peas, tomatoes and had many fruit trees. He enjoyed his time sitting on his back porch visiting with family and friend and he always had something to bar-b-que. There was never a time he didn't have a dog sitting at his feet or receiving a loving pat on the head. Dad eventually moved back to Kitsap County and where he lived in Port Orchard, to be close to Bill and Kathy: then moving to Bainbridge Island to live close to Karen and Garrett.

Dad has left us with so many great memories of fun and laughter. He loved his family unconditionally and we loved him just as much. There was never a time he didn't ask ask how the grandchildren and great grandchildren were doing, and every story was met with a smile.

We will miss dad with all our hearts. But we know he is enjoying himself with a fishing pole in one hand and a beer in the other. FISH ON!!!
