Our beloved Alicia Marie Holmberg, age 30, passed away on December 12, 2025. She was a deeply loved mother, daughter, sister, auntie, niece, cousin, and friend whose presence brought energy, warmth, and laughter to everyone around her.
Born on April 24, 1995, Alicia was, from a young age, wild, funny, animated, and full of life and personality. As she grew into adulthood, she became a beautiful woman known for her warmth, bubbly spirit, and willingness to help others. She was a hard worker with a strong sense of responsibility and pride in all that she did. Alicia spent many years working in retail management, where her leadership, dedication, and strong work ethic were evident to all who worked alongside her.
Above all else, Alicia was a devoted mother. Her daughter and son, Athena Godding (9) and Jaxon Godding (8), were her pride and joy, and everything she did was rooted in her deep love for them. She worked tirelessly to provide for her children and to give them the best life she could, pouring her heart into motherhood with fierce love and determination.
Alicia had a deep connection with animals and a compassionate soul that extended to all living things. She loved to cook, enjoyed hiking and spending time outdoors, and found joy in music and dancing. She cherished time spent with friends and family, and her laughter, energy, and presence made every gathering brighter simply because she was there.
Alicia’s faith journey was complex and deeply personal. Throughout her life, she wrestled with her relationship with God, but in her later years she was intentionally working to strengthen that relationship. She believed in Jesus as her Savior and found comfort and meaning in her faith. Alicia enjoyed attending NewLife Church alongside her sister, Alyxandria, and those moments of worship and fellowship were deeply meaningful to her.
After a painful and private struggle, Alicia died by suicide. Her death is a profound loss, but it does not define her life. Alicia was so much more than her darkest moments. Her story is a reminder of the importance of mental health awareness, compassion, and reaching out—to listen, to support, and to ensure that no one feels alone in their pain.
Alicia was preceded in death by her grandfathers, David Thompson and Bernie Lopez, and her great-grandmothers, Berniece Blees and Margaret Thompson. She is survived by her daughter, Athena Godding; her son, Jaxon Godding; her mother, Dawn (Thompson) Hiller; her father, Michael Holmberg; her stepfather, Robert Hiller; her stepmother, Christie Hiller; her sisters, Alyxandria Holmberg and Merissa Holmberg; her brothers, Christian Hiller and Rieland Hiller; her nieces, Emma Olin, Lilly Carlos, Amelia Olivas, and Melanie Lueck; her grandmother, Donna Lopez; and a host of loving grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She will be remembered for her big heart, her humor, her strength, and the love she gave so freely.
A celebration of life will be held on February 7, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at NewLife Church in Port Orchard, off Hovde Road. In honor of Alicia, the family encourages acts of kindness, open conversations about mental health, and support for suicide awareness and prevention.
Alicia Marie Holmberg will be forever loved, deeply missed, and always remembered.
Alicia’s light remains with us, and her legacy lives on through her children and all who were blessed to know her.
