Dianna Mae Purser, 75, of the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe, passed away in her home on the Port Gamble S’Klallam Indian Reservation in Little Boston, Washington, on September 25, 2025.
She was born on March 20, 1950, in Bremerton, Washington, to Aaron Purser and Geraldine Heiman. Dianna was a woman of strength and compassion, always extending kindness to those facing struggles. She was deeply rooted in her community and carried a strong mind and spirit, devoted to exercising her treaty rights and harvesting from the land and waters. Her care for people and her connections extended beyond her own Tribe, building strong ties with families from tribal communities all over.
Dianna is preceded in death by her parents, Aaron Purser and Geraldine Heiman; her brothers Craig Purser, David Purser, and Joel Purser; her sister Elizabeth Purser; her son Jeromy Sullivan; and her former husband, Poe Sullivan.
She is survived by her sons Corey Sullivan, Chad Sullivan, and Jersey Black; her sister Lisa Erickson; her brother Eugine Purser; her sister-in-law Marie Saux; her grandchildren Julianna, Madison, Chloe, Liberty, Samantha, Jacob, Coraline, and Devin; as well as her nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
Dianna will be remembered for her resilience, generosity, and love of family. Her presence will be greatly missed, but her legacy of strength and compassion will continue to live on in the lives she touched.
A viewing will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 PM, followed by a service to honor Dianna’s life on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 1:00 PM inside the Gymnasium at Little Boston on the Port Gamble S’Klallam Indian Reservation.
