Geraldine Ann (Trout) Young

December 22, 1942 — April 10, 2026

Jerry Ann (Trout) Young, 83, departed this life to rejoin her family on April 10, 2026. She was born on December 22, 1942, in Wichita Falls to Tom Franklin Trout and Alma Lee (Edwards) Trout, both who have preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Vance and Thomas Trout.

Jerry graduated from Brownfield High School in 1960. She married her husband of 66 years, Phil Young in December of 1960 and they had one son, Zane, born in December 1965, both surviving her. 

Jerry retired after 32 years with the Texas Department of Transportation in Wichita Falls, Texas. She had previously worked for GTE and Collins Department Store, both in Brownfield, Texas. She moved to Poulsbo, Washington in September 2015 to be near her son.

Jerry was known for her artistic talents and creativity as well as her quiet resolve in life. She was also proud of her family heritage and took great pride in being an enrolled citizen of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. She will be missed by her extended family and close friends.

Services are under the direction of Cook Family Funeral Home- Bainbridge Island, Washington. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Bainbridge Island. In lieu of flowers or other memorials, please consider a donation to a food bank of your choice or Meals on Wheels Kitsap.
