Judith Alma Smith

Judy passed away on July 10, 2021 after living with several illnesses for a number of years. She was born in Washington DC on November 18, 1943, and lived her early life in the DC area and in Richmond, Virginia in her college years. She moved to and embraced the Northwest in the early ’70s, living in Seattle and eventually Suquamish and Bainbridge Island, spending twenty years or so living with her life-long friend Jill Woodward, until Jill’s death in 2014. Local folks may remember Judy or Jill from their years working at Kiana Lodge, or Judy, from her many years as a hairdresser at several Island salons, most recently Salon Madison. All will remember her lovely southern manners and her sense of humor. Their cremated remains are buried together at Kane Cemetery. Local mourners and friends are Ross, Doug and Lynne Andrews and surrogate sister Ann Woodward Candioto.
