Patricia, affectionately known as “Pat”, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, Saturday, July 27th in Seattle at the age of 95. She was born on a farm in North Dakota on Saint Patrick’s Day in 1929. Pat was the middle child of five children born to Benjamin and Agunda King. At the age of 12, Pat traveled by herself by train from her family farm to Seattle. The entire family relocated in Seattle’s Queen Anne Hill area in 1941. Donna Hegstrom, the youngest sibling, is the only remaining sibling from Pat’s family. Pat would claim the Pacific Northwest as her lifelong home, specifically the Queen Anne and Magnolia area.
Pat lived a life of service and love devoted to her family, her church and her community. She was proud to have served as the Executive Director of the Queen Anne Helpline from its inception for nearly thirty years, retiring at the age of 83.
Pat’s husband Donald, predeceased her in death in 2018 at the age of 93. Pat’s children include Susan and her husband Bruce Burroughs, Steven and his wife Morgan, and Garry and his wife Pamela. A special thank you to her nephew who was like another son to her and her husband Don, Dr. John Sobeck. Pat has 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
