Robert F. "Bob" Jellicoe, 66, of Bainbridge Island, WA., passed away Sunday September 1, 2019. He was born to the late Harold Vincent and Betty Eileen (Ewald) Jellicoe February 4, 1953 on Bainbridge Island.
During his lifetime Bob made many friendships along the way, serving the community he loved including eleven years with the Bainbridge Fire Department. He never met a stranger and was always happy to share a story with all.
After graduating from Queen Anne High School (Class of 1971), Bob went on to earn an Associates Degree. Bob's working career started with Blossom Construction for Mick & Morrie Blossom. From there he began Jellicoe Bros. Construction working along side his father Vincent and brother Gary. It is during this time he met Bill Arness of Arness Inc. becoming a close friend and invaluable employee installing septic systems throughout all of Kitsap County. His gift for gab and diplomatic ways made him the perfect person to deal with the Kitsap County Health Department. He took pride in getting a sign off on a job and knowing the working components of each client's drain field.
In 1995 Bob reunited with Morrie and Kathy Blossom at South Bainbridge Water Company, working side by side with Morrie until his retirement in 2014.
Although his retirement was overshadowed by his diagnosis of cancer, he lived life to the fullest, fulfilling his dream to create a farm on the property he held from early adulthood. He took pleasure in building a barn with hand-hewn cedar and baling hay in the summer to feed his livestock, a hobby that brought him much joy. Bob was a master of his trade on a backhoe with a visionary of the art of turning a blank canvas of land into a beautiful landscape.
Bob the storyteller, had a vast wealth of knowledge that he loved to share with his friends, freely offering a helping hand. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and the community of Bainbridge as the keeper of the tricks of the trade.
Robert leaves behind his sweetheart Kim Podesla; sons Craig, Curt (Taylor) & Cory, and stepdaughter Rachael Gray; Granddaughters Stella, Ivy, and Farrah Jellicoe, and Stella Gray; Brother Gary (Winoma) and niece Michaela (Pat). He also leaves behind his Ford F-250 along with his loyal companion "Vinny Dog".
