Wanda J. Mackenzie of Bainbridge Island passed away on August 20, 2022, after a long fight with Cancer. She was in Hospice Care for the past eight weeks in her home.

She was married to her husband, David G. Mackenzie for 42 years and is survived by her husband, her brother, Dennis M. Her family is very grateful and appreciative of the love and support given by Sabine Bradshaw and Petro Siebert. She will be loved and missed by all who knew of her concern for others.

She was born in San Francisco in 1942 and moved to San Mateo County where she graduated from Hillsdale High School in 1960, she was Homecoming Queen. She graduated from the University of California Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts with a major in English in 1967. She earned a Standard Teaching Credential with a Specialization Secondary Teaching.

She decided that teaching was not for her and after putting her first husband through college in Houston, decided to move back to the Bay area to end her marriage. For the next ten years, she worked in the advertising field, then the stock brokerage field, and then found her calling as a Trust Assistant at the Bank of America Trust Department in San Francisco. Here she met her future husband David and enjoyed the next 42-year marriage with international assignments in Nassau, Bahamas, and London, England before returning to their home in Sausalito.

After David’s retirement in 1999, they traveled extensively, including Hong Kong, Europe, and other foreign destinations. Wanda enjoyed close personal friendships and playing the “Words with Friends” game online. She was on the landscape committee for the HOA and was also responsible for the remodeling of the lobbies of the Harbourside Owners Association’s buildings.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Cook Family Funeral Home of Bainbridge Island.
